Steal This Copy

For a brand with much more personality, centered around catchy copywriting, Steal This Copy was designed much differently to our usual style. David had an existing landing page with text and we redesigned his website to incorporate the playful, cheeky branding we created. His inspiration was old Japanese packaging, newspaper ads from the early 1900’s, and video games, so we created a character forward brand with some bright colors and eye-catching designs to grab the attention of his audience.

With Steal This Copy as the name of the business, we conceptualized what kind of icon or character would be most pertinent, and landed on a fox. The fox can be shown in its purest form in the main logo, and in multiple other scenarios, is dressed in alternative outfits. A robber for theft and stealing good copy, a boxer for pushing back on the norm and standing up for your writing, a spy for observation and proficiency in wit and language, and a cowboy for lassoing up every opportunity that comes your way.

STC is an extension on a personal brand and achieves David’s goal of moving away from a name-focused brand and into something that is storytelling.

As well as cleaning up his existing copy, we created his bio accounts and added brand copywriting into any sections where applicable.
